Bristol Rovers recorded their biggest win for over nine years and first team coach Paul Trollope says Rovers looked very good today.

‘It was a very good performance from us,’ Paul told bristolrovers.co.uk, ‘We were very good in and around the opposition box which is something we’ve worked on.

‘We wanted to be better at taking chances for us when they came along, and today we were. Taking chances changes games, and we’ve seen similar chances to those we had today at the Memorial Stadium not taken.

‘We’ve worked extensively on our forward play, and we feel that Rickie and Darryl have the makings of a good partnership. Both can score goals, and as the weeks and games go by, they will develop an even better understanding of each other.

‘We’re still at an early stage in terms of the way we’ve shaped our forward play, so it was a nice afternoon to score lots of goals that I think our play deserved.’

It was very much a different story for Hereford manager Graham Turner who was from happy with his team, who have now lost their opening three games and find themselves bottom of League One.

‘We got caught cold. We made some basic defending errors,’ he said.

‘It’s not very pleasant when that happens. It was one of those days when they are flying in from all over the place.

‘It’s an unforgiving league. Once you go higher you get punished for any mistakes and you get punished for being out of position even only by a yard or two.

‘It’s no good slaughtering the players – there was a lot of honest endeavour – but we had great difficulty contending with their front players. We couldn’t control them.’
