Bristol Rovers got their first win of the season at home to Hereford in emphatic style.
Rovers thumped the Welsh side 6-1 at the Memorial Stadium this afternoon and Gasheads were treated to six great goals. Darryl Duffy open the scoring after just 3 minutes, Rickie Lambert made it 2-0 just 4 minutes later smashing home a 25 yard drive.10 minutes later Duffy hit the post, but on 22 minutes made it 3-0 after good link up play with Lambert.
The second half was all rovers again and it took Hughes just 60 seconds to get his Rovers fourth with a fantastic strike from jut out side the box. Lambert made it 5 with a stunning free kick from just outside the area.
Lambert and Duffy were then taken off to a standing ovation, Chris Lines then added to Rovers goal tally smashing home a free kick from 25 yards out, Hereford then pulled one back through Stephen Guinan.
This was Rovers biggest win for over 9 years.
