Goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall is set to have an operation on his troublesome knee.
The 38 year old lost his place to Kelle Roos back in the end of August and has not played since Rovers 3-2 EFL Cup loss to Chelsea. Mildenhall has been struggling with the injury and was hoping to be able to shake it off, but after seeing a specialist Mildenhall has been told he will need a operation which could keep him out for up to four months.
Rovers have Will Puddy as cover after he returned from his loan spell. Mildenhall has been with Rovers since January 2013 and has made 139 appearances for the club.
