Bristol Rovers were knocked out of the F.A Cup losing to Premiership side aston Villa.
Rovers were dealt a blow when top scorer Matt Harrold was ruled out of the third round tie. Villa went ahead on 35 minutes when Petrov’s lovely pass allowed Albrighton in behind the Rovers defence on the right side of the area to fire through Poke’s legs.
With just one up top Rovers were struggling to create any real chances and it was no surprise when Villa striker Agbonlahor robbed McGleish and drilled in a lethal finish to make it 2-0. Villa added a third with a fine strike from Ciaran Clark. Scott McGleish did pull one back for Rovers with a fine lob, he had a chance to make it 3-2 but his spot kick was saved.
Rovers are back to League action on Tuesday when they face fellow strugglers Hereford United away.
