Vital Gas understand that Bristol Rovers have offered the current vacant managers posistion to former Doncaster manager Sean O’Driscoll.

The 54 year old who has been helping out Carl Fletcher at Plymouth is believed to be in advanced talks with the board, although there are still some area’s which can not be agreed upon. O’Driscoll was sacked in September 2011 by Doncaster Rovers after over 250 games in charge, winning promotion to the Championship via the play offs in 2008. He also had a long spell with Bournemouth, where he also made over 400 appeances as a player.

It’s believed talks are on going between the two parties. Richard Money has also held talks with the board and its believed that if O’Driscoll turns the job down Rovers will turn to the former Walsall Manager.

    As the article says there is still alot to be sorted out so might not happen. Its says money is second choice!! Would not be happy with that

    You have got a great manager if he takes the job. Went stale for him in the end at Doncaster. He will need time though to get his philosophy across but he will have you playing entertaining football in the long run.

    As much as I would love it to happen, I just can’t see it.
    Why would he drop to a L2 club? Let alone one that has sacked a manager after just 2 months in charge, followed by the sacking of his permanent replacement after 6 months and languishing in 19th?
    Just hope that whoever gets the job is given at least a chance by the supporters.
