Darrell Clarke today completed a deal to sign young striker Oliver McBurnie from Premiership side Swansea City.
McBurnie joins Rovers on a 93 day loan deal and has already spent time out on loan in League Two this season. He made three appearances for Newport County just before Christmas and scored a hat-trick in Newports 3-0 win over Luton Town. The 19 year old also scored 5 times in 15 appearances whilst on loan at Chester City.
He has also made four appearances for the Scotland under-19 national team and also played once for the under 21’s. The 6’2″ striker will be included in the squad for tomorrows clash against AFC if Rovers get International clearance.
