The performance by Matty Taylor in the three nil victory over Crawley Town at the weekend at the Memorial Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Taylor was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The in-form Taylor reached the milestone of 25 goals this season as Bristol Rovers moved back into the automatic promotion places. The 26-year-old scored two headers in the 3-0 win over Crawley Town, and now has 10 goals in his past eight outings for the high-flying Pirates.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Taylor for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.
