Bristol Rovers first team coach will be looking to bring in a few new faces when the transfer widow opens January.

With Rovers lying just outside the League One relegation zone, Trollope is hoping a few new faces will help Rovers to put a run together to pull away from the bottom of table.

‘The situation hasn’t changed from when the transfer window closed – we said we needed to add to the squad then, but didn’t manage to do it for one reason or another,’ said Trollope to the Evening Post.

‘Now we will be looking to do it in January.

‘The league position is not acceptable for our progression and although the lads are giving everything, we still lack a few things and want to add to make the squad stronger. We have a few people in mind we think would add to the squad, give it a bit more depth and add a few numbers.

‘With players coming back from injury as well, we are hoping January will be a month where we can kick on.

‘Our squad shows that although we can cope with one or two people out, we certainly can’t cope with six or seven.’

Rovers were linked to Hereford striker Stuart Fleetwood back in November and may make a move for him in January. Many Gasheads think we need a midfielder, not a striker.
