Trollope Set For New Deal

First team coach Paul Trollope is set to sign a new contract to keep him at Bristol Rovers.

Director of football Lennie Lawrence says a deal is close and hopes to have Paul tied to a new contract before the start of the season on Saturday.

‘Talks are ongoing, and hopefully we’ll be able to say something about it later in the week,’ Lennie told bristolrovers.co.uk, ‘It’s taken a long time, but hopefully it will be resolved in the not too distant future.’

Lennie Lawrence is also set to have his extended but wants to tie up first team coach Trollope`s first. ‘It’s not so much about me, but we don’t need any question marks hanging over Paul’s head,’ he said, ‘The way it’s worked and evolved between us has been perfect for me and for him, and hopefully that will continue for a long time.’

Since Paul and Lennie took over at Rovers their record is very impressive, played 103, won 47, lost 34 and drawn 22.
