Vital Gas 2017 Interview: Kingswood Polak

1) What made you become a Gashead?
My dad used to take us to both teams home games but the atmosphere at Eastville was so much better and the gallows humour did it for me


2) Whats your first memory as a Gashead?
My first match in 1968 v Tranmere on a cold Tuesday night. Sat in the north stand at Eastville.

3) If you could bring back one Bristol Rovers player (in his prime) who would it be?
Bruce Bannister

4) Who in your opinion is the greatest ever Rovers manager?
Don Megson

5) Favourite current and former Rovers player?
Ollie Clarke and Bruce Bannister

6) Your opinion on Darrell Clarke?
Still Learning. Great at home but sets up too defensively away from home.

7) Your opinion on the new owners and Steve Hamer?
Hard to say as nothing is being said about the stadium but the signs so far are promising. New training ground, professional approach to training and backroom staff. Players looked after during training and small improvements to the ground seem to say they are fastidious and able people. That DC signed a new 5 year contract says a lot about them and more than anything I could write

8) Which player if any would you like to see leave Rovers this summer?
Byron Moore


2 strikers, a left winger, another creative midfielder who can work dead ball Situations and a goalkeeper.

10) In your opinion will the New Stadium happen?
Not at UWE but elsewhere. I think it’s gone on too long with UWE for it to happen now.

11) Who was your first footballing hero?
George Best in the world but Bruce Bannister if Rovers.

12) What do you expect from Rovers this season?
Play off minimum but I think if we continue to set up so defensively away from home then it will be another season like the one just gone.

13) And finally, your stuck on a desert island. You can pick one person to be with, who would you choose?
Elle McPherson but if not then Chris Lines but he has to provide the Corona lol.
