Manager John Ward has said his side will learn from last nights defeat against Bradford City.

John Wards depleted Rovers side lost 4-1away at Bradford last night which ended Rovers faint hopes of making the play offs, but Ward insists Rovers will learn from the defeat and become stronger. “We had a very young group of people out there and what a night like that will do is help them learn very quickly,” said Ward “If a defeat like this against a very strong and experienced Bradford City side helps some of those youngsters in that process then we can take something away from it.
“Three or four months ago we were staring down the barrel of relegation, but we still went to Bradford with an outside chance of making the play offs.
“I was always of the mind that we had to calm ourselves down and the game at Bradford was probably the night that it showed we`re not quite good enough for that at this stage.

“We`ve been good enough to get ourselves out of trouble over the last few months, but we still have a lot of work to do to become a side at the same level as the very strong and experienced Bradford City team we faced on Tuesday night.
“We go to Southend United on saturday knowing that we are still in the process of growing up a little bit as a team, but, at the same time, we won`t forget that we have done fine over the last few months.”

Tom Hitchcock scored Rovers only goal of the game making it two in two for the 19 year old striker.
