Manager John Ward handed a debut to striker Ryan Brunt and also recalled Joe Anyinsah and Oliver Norburn back into the starting line up.

David Clarkson returned to take a place on the bench. Rotherham started off lively having the more possession but never really troubled Steve Mildenhall in the Rovers goal. Rovers took the lead on 43 minutes when Striker Ryan Brunt was fouled in the area and Lee Brown fired home the spot kick. New signing for Rotherham Claude Davis was sent off on the stroke of half time for two yellow cards.

Rovers came out fired up in the second half and sub Ellis Harrison scored a fine solo goal on 52 minutes, he picked up the ball on the half-way line, weaved through the Millers’ defence and fired a fierce right-footed shot past Andy Warrington 2-0 Rovers. Joe Anyinsah then added a third, the winger who has found his form under John Ward fired home with a fine low strike.

Rotherham did pull a goal back through former City midfielder David Noble, but Rovers held firm to grab three vital points. Rovers moved off the bottom after yesterday’s win, next game is at home to Barnet on Friday night.
