Bristol Rovers Manager Mark McGhee started Michael Smith in centre midfield and handed a debut to loan signing Guy Branston and it took the defender just 76 seconds to get on the score sheet.

Branston only arrived on loan from Aldershot Town in midweek and got off to a dream start putting Rovers 1-0 up when he headed home a Jim Patterson corner. Nahki Wells levelled for Bradford from a tight angle on 28 minutes, but striker Tom Eaves restored Rovers lead just 5 minutes later with a low drive.

Bradford were level 10 minutes into the second half, Carl McHugh headed home from a corner. Rovers once again restored their lead Derek Riordans shot was blocked then Michael Smith volleyed Rovers back in front for the third time, yet still Bradford refused to Buckle as James Hanson headed home a 68th minute equalise.

The game erupted in injury time when an ugly touchline exchange ended with Bradford’s Nathan Doyle being sent off after lengthy talks between the officials, whilst Rovers midfielder Wayne Brown was also dismissed for a second yellow, although it seems Brown was unlucky to pick up his second yellow.
