Steve Phillips produced a man of the match display to earn Bristol Rovers a point at the Withdean Stadium.

Brighton controlled the game from start to finish and restricting Rovers to very few chances. In the first half Phillips saved well from long-range efforts from Jake Robinson, George O’Callaghan and Dean Cox. Bristol Rovers best chance in the first half fell to striker Andy Williams who scuffed his shot wide of the Brighton goal.

It was much of the same in the second half. Phillips made a brilliant save at full stretch from Revell’s volley and with just five minutes left Phillips had to be alert again as he came quickly off his line to stop Revell in his tracks.

Paul Trollope From The Evening Post
‘Brighton had been strong at home so we knew it would be tough but this was another good away performance.

‘It’s been a hard week for us mentally, losing at home to Leyton Orient and then drawing against Southend, so to follow up with a clean sheet is what we needed.’
