Rovers To Face Rivals

Bristol Rovers will face rivals Bristol City in a pre season friendly.

The tie will take place at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate on Saturday August 4th. The game will be a testimonial game for long serving Bristol City defender Louis Carey who has made 600 appearances for the club.

The last time the two Bristol teams met was in the regional final of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in February 2007, Rovers held City to a 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate. Rovers then beat City in the second leg 1-0 through a Rickie Lambert strike.
