Bristol Rovers were unable to put two wins together top help steer them away from the bottom of the table.

Rovers did get off to a good start when Dave Clarkson put Rovers in front from the penalty spot after Wayne Brown was fouled in the area, but it took Rochdale just 14 minutes to pull level through Andrew Tutte. Once again Neil Etheridge in the Rovers goal was doing his best to help Rovers pick up some much needed points.

In the second half Rochdale took the lead, Bobby Grant fired them ahead his curling shot taking a deflection off Rovers’ substitute Fabien Broghammer to lift it over Ethridge to put Rochdale 2-1 up. It got worse for Rovers when defender Gary Kenneth was shown his second yellow card and had to leave the field. If that wasn’t bad enough sub Eliot Richards then received a straight red for a wreck-less challenge. Rovers are now 21st in League Two.
